For more information call (714)236-3870. Senior Transportation ST*R Runabouts offers FREE pre-scheduled transportation to and from the Senior Center for Buena Park residents 60 years of age and older, who wish to participate in the Senior Activities, Lunch or Adult Day Care programs. Call 236-3870.
 Medical Transportation:
This program is available for doctor appointments Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8 am - 2 pm. Call 236-3870 for details. You must pre-register. Medicare/Medical Counseling HELP: Available here on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. HICAP sells no insurance - and can't ethically recommend one company over another - BUT they can give YOU the information to help make up your mind! *Appointments necessary. Community SeniorServ Lunch Program (Formerly TLC): It is more than just a meal. It gives seniors the opportunity to enjoy a hot, well-balanced, nutritious meal in the company of other seniors. Stop by any morning, Monday through Friday an enjoy interesting speakers, entertainment, or maybe a special party. Lunch is served at 11:15 am for a $2.50 donation. Adult Day Care Program: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Since 1983, the Buena Park Senior Day program has been providing a safe and uplifting daytime social, recreational and nutritional program for frail elderly persons. Our mission is to assist in maintaining the Activities of Daily Living by promoting stimulating and challenging activities. Independence and well-being helps off-set premature placement in nursing facilities and allows the seniors to remain in their homes. Families and caregivers are confident to know that their loved ones are supervised in a caring and friendly environment with others who share similar challenges. Music, Exercise, Travel Logs and Senior Topics are just some of the exciting activities you will find here at the Buena Park Senior Day Care Program. Call (714) 826-3163 for more information. Director Pat Stewart Alzheimer's Care Givers This program is available to help you find assistance with life challenges you may be facing. Rosemary Nielsen is in the Outreach Office Monday through Friday mornings. Appointments are required. Meals On Wheels: This Program delivers food to home bound individuals who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. This service is available to Buena Park residents for a nominal fee. A paralegal from the Legal Aid Society is available to seniors over 60 years and older on the 3rd Thursday of the month to provide free legal advice and information regarding Social Security, housing, health care and consumer matters. *Appointments are required. Outreach Services: This program is available to help you find assistance with life challenges you may be facing. Rosemary Nielsen is in the Outreach Office Monday through Friday mornings. *Appointments are required. Shared Housing: Assistance to Buena Park residents over the age of 55 in locating suitable shared housing facilities. Enables two or more unrelated persons to share a home or apartment while enjoying companionship, security and maintaining independence. Do you have a room to rent? Contact Rsoemary Nielsen, M.S.W. TOPS - Take Off Pounds Sensibly: Meets every Tuesday at 7:00pm in the dining room. Join them for guidance and fun. New members are always welcome. Closed Dec. 22 & 29. Adult Public Health. Nursing Services: Jane Hannah our wonderful nurse offers free health assessments and health information to seniors 50 years and older. Assessments offered include blood pressure, height, weight, pulse, hearing, vision, blood glucose, hemoglobin, and diet. Jane will be in the Center on scheduled days. This sevice is a State and County funded program. *Appointments are required. Blood Pressure Check: Our helpful blood pressure checking nurse will be in on Friday, December 18th from 10:00am - 12:00pm. |
